Start off with something like Misery or Needful Things. I’d wait to read his bigger stuff until you get a feel for his style.

Try The Bachman Books (S.Kings alter ego) or any of his short story collections first 🙂

My mom always told me that Delores Claiborne and Mr. Mercede’s were easy reads! I’m reading Salem’s Lot, first Stephen King book. It’s hard for me to read just because it takes so long to get into it, but I’m going to keep going.

I love Dolores Claiborne

I probably should’ve listened to my mom and started with that one, but it is on my TBR list. I bought Salem a couple years ago so I figured I’d read that before I bought more. But I love all of his movies so I’m excited to start reading the books!

Just released stand alone novella, The Body which is what movie Stand by Me was based on. Can’t wait to read this one to see what differences are. But 11/22/63 was good. I don’t read him either but that was very interesting.

i love his earliest stuff. after “pet sematary”(which i thought was awful) i kind of quite reading him. “the shining” is one of the scariest books i’ve ever read, but “the stand” is my favorite. “different seasons” contains short stories, that some of his best movies came from.

The Stand, The Shining, there’s so many. I like Rose Madder too. I read that years ago. It doesn’t get as much attention as his other books. Oh and Misery is a good one.

Start out easy with something like Carrie or Pet Semetary. He can be overwhelming for those who are new to his stuff.
