C.S. Lewis wrote, concerning his first reading of Phantastes at age sixteen, “That night my imagination was, in a certain sense, baptized; the rest of me not unnaturally, took longer. I had not the faintest notion what I had let myself in for by buying Phantastes”

Battle Mage by Peter Flannery. Aaaaaaaamazing!!! By far the most complete story I’ve read in a long time. A book that broke my heart and blew my mind in a constant stream of fabulous story telling. A true “show not tell” example.

@Brandon , the book is different obviously and better but it pretty much follows it. One of the best books I’ve ever read

I’ve always been a bit intimidated to read Stephen king’s work. I appreciate your review, I cant knock a best of all time contender

Troy

I like King, and I’ve read more than a few of his books, some I like, some I don’t and don’t get the hype about. He hasn’t ended some well but this book is big, but definitely worth it. You’ll be through it in no time!
