Jesse Cole Jennings mistborn is definitely good, but we are dutch en we read the books english. Most of the time that is not a problem but i have read mistborn myself in english and i found it rather complicated?. Maybe if its translated in our native language…

Assassins Apprentice by Robin Hobb. It’s the first book of a trilogy. And there are many more excellent books by her set in the same world. If he happens to like it. ?

If he liked night angel then move on to The Light Bringer series. It’s Brent Weeks other series.
