I saw Jamie Ford at a book fair earlier this year. No one had heard of him before and now everyone locally has read him. His latest,Love and other consequences is also very good.

I liked the idea of the story better than the actual story. The ending felt off to me, but I loved having a story focused on a dark chapter of our history. We still don’t talk about Japanese Internment enough.

Michaél

I had never even heard of the Japanese Internment until I read “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.” I emailed Jamie Ford and told him thank you for bringing light to something I should have been taught in my American History classes but never was. Couldn’t believe this was never told to me and still isn’t taught in our schools.

1
Freda

@Michaél, I learned about Japanese internment when I visited Washington state. I was 33 years old and sadly had never heard of it.

1
Rose

@Michaél I read recently that 66% of millenials don’t know what Auschwitz was. 🙁

Jamie Ford does an author get more revenue from ebook or sale in book store? (Gotta keep the arts alive?)

1
Marty

It is one of my all time favorite books! Keep writing!

2

@Kristine Actually the royalty rate is virtually the same. But the publisher makes way more money on an ebook (since there’s no printing/delivery cost).
