It is a great read. He is a prickly character who you can’t help to love. A reluctant “hero”

Ove reminds me of the British character Victor Meldrew from One Foot in the Grave. I personally loved the book.

A fast and easy read, it made me laugh out loud and sob uncontrollably. How can you not love a book like that?

I found it depressingly sad. I also struggled a lot with the first three quarters of it because of that. Finished it and put it out. Not on my re-read list I’m afraid. Some people have a tragic life and I don’t want to read about it!

It was okay. I couldn’t get past the fact that he was written like a cranky old man in his late 70’s, but the author made him 58!! It has its moments though. I don’t regret reading it.

No I did too. Read something more cheerful then finished it. Mainly because of everyone on here saying how wonderful it was. Well written, yes. Great story….debatable. Funny….yes when its not being totally utterly depressing…
