I generally LOVE shorter chapters and will often pick the book with the shorter chapters if between two. I don’t mind long ones but shorter would be my preference xxx

The shorter the better! By the way, can anyone recommend good books with short chapters?

If it is a long chapter it is hard to put down. One thing I don’t like are to many characters.

Just see how it flows. Don’t get too technical or it’ll ruin your creativity.

The best writers can make long chapters feel short! So as long as the story is gripping, for me it doesn’t matter ?

As long as it’s good I don’t really care. But sometimes shorter ones are better when I’m reading during break time at work cos I can usually get the chapter I’m reading completed before my break ends

Short or medium. No chapters is a nightmare.

As long as the story is a good one, I don’t care either way! I’m more interested and involved with the plot to bother with chapter length!

Short everything — chapters, novels, sentences. Whatever’s “left out” we’ll fill in ourselves.

Short. But as long as it’s like 3-10 pages. 1 page chapters are annoying.

When I’m deep into a book I seldom notice the passing of chapters.

That’s how it should be ideally. I just like short chapters so if I’m on a break at work i don’t have to stop mid chapter. If you have plenty of time chapter length shouldn’t matter.

Short ones for time to make a cuppa and get stuck in again??

Short because if I fall asleep I don’t have to re read far back if the chapters are short x

Sometimes short….but if it’s a really good book and I’m playing the “one more chapter” game before going to sleep, long chapters work best!
