It’s not romance, although it has a fair amount of sex. I would consider it suspense/mystery. Is it the best book I’ve ever read? No. Did it keep me interested and wanting more? Yes.
Are you looking for romance? Verity isn’t romance. It’s a very dark psych thriller. Imo it’s a great book, because I like disturbing books, but if you’re looking for romance this ain’t it.
So interesting to see all the very different responses, but I enjoyed it!! Good writing, interesting characters, twist at the end… Maybe not on the top of my favorite book list, but I would definitely read more by this author. Not every book can be top on the list of “best ever written.”
The story was intriguing but I honestly grew tired of the language and explicit sex scenes. IMO, a little goes a long way. I sent my copy to a friend, who quit 50 pages in due to the language alone.
I really enjoyed it & was pulled in…until the ending which I thought badly let it down. Other people thought the ending was good though so horses for courses & all that!

I just finished it. Didn’t quite live up to the hype, but I enjoyed it anyway. Not really a romance. It’s a quick read, so I recommend!

It’s not very thrilling! It was an ok, quick read, but not worth the hype, and I’m in no hurry to read anything else by the author.
Psychological thriller-ish… some good bits, but the plot is not very believable and neither were the characters, unfortunately. A disappointment.

I hate sappy romance (I loved the first gray book) and a lot of posts refer to too much sex in this book.
I dislike romance normally but LOVED this book. I just skim past all the sex because that’s not what makes it great.

Its awesome if you love suspense filled Thrillers!!! There is some romance but it is not main focus.. It is very good!

If infidelity, gratuitous sex and murder are romantic, then yes it is. I would never recommend it to anyone.
