It depends on the book I just read. Sometimes I need a few days to really contemplate and absorb the story, characters, the experience. If the book is not that great, I can start another one right away. I like to “live” with a great story for a while before starting another one

Usually within 24 hours unless the book puts me in a book hangover. In that case it can take me 2-3 days to start something new.

Wow you’re all so intense lol it takes me a while to finish a book I’m a slow reader with a short attention span so sometimes it takes a while before I’m able to pick up another one sometimes like a month. Guess I’m a bad reader lol

Reply
Felicia

No such thing as a “bad” reader. Reading is to be enjoyed at your pace. It shouldn’t be a competition.

Pretty much right away but if I get z book hangover it can take me up to a week and even then when I do, it may take me a bit longer to find THE book I want to read following that. I just done that, I went to read one after one book hangover and 100 pages in really did not want to read that and ended up reading another I had. Finished the other the following morning and began my next one there and then. Just shows it’s all different at times

Depends on how emotionally involved I was and if I end up with reader’s hangover. If that happens it can take me days or weeks to start a new one. If not, I start right away.

Depends on the book. If it’s deep and thought provoking a day or so. If it’s something light i go on to the next book.
