My husband makes fun of me, but I go through books fast, and what if it’s not the right book for the moment?

0
Leah

Always. I volunteer at a museum but I can read when it’s slow. One day, I left my purse in my husband’s car (he had dropped me off) and I about freaked out realizing I didn’t have a book. The poor staff actually went out of their way to scour the museum to find a readily available book (that wasn’t in the gift shop for purchase or in locked up archives). They found one to calm me ?

0

It’s an Overdrive app, but easier to use. You set it up with your library card number and a pin code. You may have to go to the library to get the pin for the initial setup. But then you can check books out from home!
You can also check out both ebooks and audiobooks on it.

?‍♀️ I’m always afraid I’m going to be stuck somewhere, in the middle of a group of strangers, for a long wait, and not have anything to read, which has happened in the past. So now, I’m always taking a book with me, even when I’m going out to meet with friends – I’m usually early and they’re usually late, so I read until they arrive 😀

I was leaving the house with my mother in law on our way to Ikea this past week. I grabbed a book and she asked me why I was bringing a book to Ikea. I had to explain to her that I always have a book with me. I mean you never know when you might have car trouble or something and get stuck somewhere. You gotta have something to read!

I’ve told this story before but it’s still my favorite. In the fifth grade we took a trip to Disney. Standing in line at the airport my carryon burst open from a broken zipper because I’d packed SO MANY BOOKS it couldn’t hold them all. What kid brings books to Disney? This girl! I always had to take at least two, in case I finished one lol. I’m so thankful for the kindle app on my phone because I don’t have to drag a book now!
