Always. I volunteer at a museum but I can read when it’s slow. One day, I left my purse in my husband’s car (he had dropped me off) and I about freaked out realizing I didn’t have a book. The poor staff actually went out of their way to scour the museum to find a readily available book (that wasn’t in the gift shop for purchase or in locked up archives). They found one to calm me ?
It’s an Overdrive app, but easier to use. You set it up with your library card number and a pin code. You may have to go to the library to get the pin for the initial setup. But then you can check books out from home! You can also check out both ebooks and audiobooks on it.
Yep! Paper book, audiobook and Kindle book on phone. I always have a book with me. Currently reading History of Love by Nicole Krause and listening to The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter…
?♀️ I’m always afraid I’m going to be stuck somewhere, in the middle of a group of strangers, for a long wait, and not have anything to read, which has happened in the past. So now, I’m always taking a book with me, even when I’m going out to meet with friends – I’m usually early and they’re usually late, so I read until they arrive 😀
I used to… But as I have no longer ten minutes of quiet time at work and I no longer take the bus, I have to admit my books are quietly waiting for me at home…
Whenever I forget to take a physical book with me I’m always so relieved remembering that I have tons of books on my phone. This is why I bought a Kindle as well!
I was leaving the house with my mother in law on our way to Ikea this past week. I grabbed a book and she asked me why I was bringing a book to Ikea. I had to explain to her that I always have a book with me. I mean you never know when you might have car trouble or something and get stuck somewhere. You gotta have something to read!
I am a tad uncomfortable if I find myself stuck somewhere without a book. I try to never find myself in such a terrible position. Always have a book in hand!
Now it is my iPad with ebooks from the library. If you have a book, you will never be bored! You never know when you will have to sit somewhere and wait for someone or something…
My purse is too small. I carry it in my hand. How many times have I gotten into a discussion with a waiter/waitress about the book I am reading, not to mention people waiting in doctor’s offices.
I’ve told this story before but it’s still my favorite. In the fifth grade we took a trip to Disney. Standing in line at the airport my carryon burst open from a broken zipper because I’d packed SO MANY BOOKS it couldn’t hold them all. What kid brings books to Disney? This girl! I always had to take at least two, in case I finished one lol. I’m so thankful for the kindle app on my phone because I don’t have to drag a book now!
I still feel like I am in college, I carry a backpack full of books everywhere with me. And if I don’t have a pen to mark notes in my books then I get tons of anxiety and won’t read.
I’m off to hospital with a friend today …. she will be in the scanner for sometime …. first thing I grabbed is my book …. with the last 100 pages to go ….

I bought a purse a few weeks ago to carry books around ?
When we are away for more than a day, I bring 3 books at least.
Me too. Lots of flak from the family. But granddaughter takes after me and brought 5 on the last plane flight.
My husband makes fun of me, but I go through books fast, and what if it’s not the right book for the moment?

Rule #1 of being a book worm: Never go anywhere without a book. And I don’t. Even to church, but it does stay in my car then.
Since I like Sunday school at my parents old church ..book was not opened
Preacher didnt like so sat outside of sanctuary and read til they were ready to leave…they moved but before started only staying for Sunday School

I always have my Kindle or a book. And even if I forget one of those, I always have my phone, which has the Kindle app and Libby on it.
What is Libby please?
It’s an Overdrive app, but easier to use. You set it up with your library card number and a pin code. You may have to go to the library to get the pin for the initial setup. But then you can check books out from home!

Me! I’m so bad about having 3 or 4 books going at one time!
Yes always. Having room in my suitcase for more to take home? Yes always
??♀️?
I recently bought a new handbag online and my main criteria was that I am able to fit AT LEAST one book, preferably more.
With the Kindle app on my phone, I don’t ever have to.
Never without…. so…..never mind the wait!

I have the Kindle app on my phone so I always have a book with me. I would feel like I was missing a limb if I didn’t have a book with me.

Always. It drives my kids nuts.
That’s what I’m saying ?
@Mary Exactly.
Well, duh. One never knows when you might have to sit and wait and nothing takes you away from such stress as a good book.
Never leave home without!
Anywhere I might have a minute to read, I take along my kindle.
Anywhere there is the possibility of social interaction I take my Kindle to deter those people. ?
I am a tad uncomfortable if I find myself stuck somewhere without a book. I try to never find myself in such a terrible position. Always have a book in hand!
A book is always with me wherever I go.
Thankful for my Kindle!
Me
That would be me. Hardback for home and always carry a paperback in my purse……..LOL.
My phone is my mobile book. Oh happy day when that became a reality! ?
I could. But I don’t.?
Now it is my iPad with ebooks from the library. If you have a book, you will never be bored! You never know when you will have to sit somewhere and wait for someone or something…
I always take my book(s) when I leave my house.
I have been known to read in a Sports Bar while we lunch and my husband watches a game! I try to always have a book.
I’ve been known to read At games … in the stadium ~
My kindle and journal go everywhere with me.
Never!!! Always be prepared for minute to read!!!
always have one in my purse–waiting is always a joy.
My purse is too small. I carry it in my hand. How many times have I gotten into a discussion with a waiter/waitress about the book I am reading, not to mention people waiting in doctor’s offices.
That would be me
I have one with me even when I know I’m not going to get to read it. It’s the principle, you know? ?
Yup…a book (or two) and my Chapstick!
Me! I also have to have a back -up in case I finish that book! Lol
Me too
Me too, and my granddaughter. Five is the limit, we told her before a cross country flight.
I have audio and Kindle books on my phone. You never know when you might get a spare minute!
My kindle, my phone and my keys are with me…ALWAYS:)
Just for road trips.

Follow-up question: how many people, when buying a purse/bag, factor “must fit a book inside it” into their purchasing decision? ?♀️
??♀️ me again ??♀️
Yep! Me too…
Of course ?
Always!
Totally.
I take books in the grocery store in case there are lines to get deli meat or cash out. Otherwise, my lack of patience drives me insane
I could have used that trick yesterday.
Even if I know I won’t read I still have it. Even plan to put in my bag for the concert I am going to ?
Even have small book tote bags as I like reading on the go: as one example
Me
me,its makes me feel happy .though sometime i know i may not get the chance to read but i keep one with me ???
Me too!
Great having a book handy while waiting in line for an hour to get a blood test lol
Me! I either have multiple ebooks on my phone or a book in my bag. I prefer the paper book just because I hate looking at my phone lol.
Me too !!
have books available always. my phone has a kindle app. incase I get caught out by a long wait somewhere
Yep.
I never leave home without one
Also important to have a book on tape in the car … though these are being replaced by electronic gear that I don’t know how to use.
One? Oh….. oops
I’ve told this story before but it’s still my favorite. In the fifth grade we took a trip to Disney. Yep! This is why this is my tribe. Just spent 10 days in Hawaii, friends said, ‘who brings books to Hawaii?’ This girl! ???
This one, too.
I still feel like I am in college, I carry a backpack full of books everywhere with me. And if I don’t have a pen to mark notes in my books then I get tons of anxiety and won’t read.
?♀️?♀️
??♀️??♀️
I brought novels during my college entrance exams HAHAHA. I just can’t go anywhere w/o book and it’s the reason why I do not check my phone so much.
I am guilty of that
I’m off to hospital with a friend today …. she will be in the scanner for sometime …. first thing I grabbed is my book …. with the last 100 pages to go ….
