Some weeks…three books…the last two weeks, maybe 20 pages total. I don’t track time but pages. Ideally, three hours a night…

I’m an English teacher. This time of year, I get 4-5 hours a day and sometimes more! Lately, I’ve averaged a novel every 1-2 days. That being said, I get almost no time for leisure reading during the school year when I’m grading essays and reading for work! When school is in session, I’m lucky to finish a novel in 2-3 weeks!

I’ve been listening to books because I’ve been crocheting little stuffed animals for kids with cancer. Each “critter” takes upward to six hours. I guess I read about one to two hours a day.

I read in bed every time (no tv in our bedroom) and I usually travel for work (airport and plane time) so that’s usually about 10 hours a week. Usually works out to a book a week.

I only ear-read and I’m rarely without earphones – at work and at home, in the car, even as I go to sleep, I’m listening. Probably 35 – 40? I average 3 books a week. If I had to hold a book, definitely it would be much less.

Donna

That was me when I was still working! I worked at the hospital and had to get up at 4:15 am. I remember sooo many mornings when I would drag myself in after staying up too late reading! Now I am retired and I don’t have to worry about it! ?

1
Megan

I’m a stay at home mom and a writer so I’m kind of retired. I get to make my own schedule anyway. My son sleeps until between 10-12 noon and I write between 10pm-2am depending on my word count. Then I read until my eyelids are leaden (4-5am). I’m still exhausted at the crack of noon but it’s worth it.
