Usually for me, I switch genres! I typically read fantasy, but if I get in a reading slump I’ll read a contemporary book to get out of it ? It usually helps because you switch it up a bit from the book that gave you the slump
I’ll reread some of my favorite books or maybe just my favorite parts of some books. Audiobooks help too. I really miss reading if I let a slump go on too long so if I’m having troubles getting into anything new I’ll turn on an audiobook and play a video game for awhile. Sometimes it’ll take a few weeks for something I’m listening to to spark my interest but sooner or later I’ll find a book I’m utterly impatient to finish and voila, book slump over.
By doing some other activity. I watch the series I neglected in favor of reading, I play games, I listen to music, … And I keep at ot as long as reading doesn’t appeal to me anymore. It usually does the trick.
I’d first be sure the slump is only affecting reading. I get them when I get depression and that has to be dealt with before I can easily start reading again.
I love, love, love reading but having a slump at the moment, my mums in hospital, not doing so great and I can’t get into a book. Thanks for the suggestions I might try to re read The great Gastby, my favourite book and not long. It’s funny that reading lovers can go into a slump
Sorry to hear this. Much hugs from this end of the world (Australia). Don’t let the slump worry you , you’ve got a lot on your mind; it’s perfectly reasonable.
Read a book you already love or a book that takes little to no effort to read. Works every time for me at least. 🙂
Light, quick, easy read. For me it’s usual a nice YA or sometimes am old favorite

Raid my Goodreads want-to-read list and give my librarian a hernia ?
I reread my favorites until I find something that grabs me
I do exactly the same thing as Gina, on the comment above. I reread old favorites.
Delete my current reads list… Put all my cr’s aside, restart ??

I always read a book I’ve read many times. That way I can still enjoy the book, but do not have to worry about missing anything.
