Get away from the books you had been reading recently .
Try comics or movies or do something fun .
When you pause to catch your breath ,you will want to read something hopefully .
I’ve been reading nothing but National Geographic for the past week and now I’m reading books like crazy .Guess I needed a change .

Start reading a little bit every day. Start with a minute, then work yourself up to longer times each week.

I go through spurts like this. Sometimes I just can’t get into it, so I focus on other parts of my life for a while. I always come back to it after some time away.

The reading sickness comes & goes for we reading enthusiasts. I had a year when I read only 6 books & a couple of years when I read over 100. Don’t push yourself. If you read before you’ll read again.

Maybe something will gel with how your feeling. Something delightful – Erotic Stories of Punjabi Woman. Something fantastic especially as an audio book – The Alice Network. Something intense and hot – King by TM Frazier. Something light – Pucked by Helena Hunting. Something addictive – Paper Princess by Erin Watt. Something clever – In the Woods by Tana French. Something fun – anything by Dannika Dark and/or Annette Marie.

It’s okay to take a break now and then. I feel this way sometimes as well. I take a break and inevitably something sparks my interest and I am back at it!

It happens to me sometimes. Taking a break and then researching books that sound so interesting, is what gets me back into it then I’m reading a new book every week.

graphic novel? guilty pleasure book? your favorite book to rekindle the love?

Decide on a subject you find interesting. For me it’s history. Buy or download a non fiction book and start from there. I felt the same a week ago so I downloaded a book on the industrial revolution in Britain – and can’t put it down!!
And I’m learning something new!?

Ha, I was like that for a few months. I feel your pain. Maybe a reread of a favorite book?

The problem could be your eyes have weakened, you need glasses. Unless you found what it is already,

Same here…i feel like I’m in a draught. Bought so many new books but keep #bingewatching shows instead or reread old books. Don’t know how to go back into reading new stuff again.

You might try some short stories, easy to read in a short time.

Read something suspenseful…a page Turner… no need for any books that are laborious. Find a salacious novel or a mystery. Short chapters somehow keep me engaged.

Read a favorite kids book that you used to enjoy reading. That works for me. If you like mystery, read Caroline B. Cooney. My favorite to read is Lurlene McDaniel.

Do something else for a bit , needlework, walking a dog , watching tv , have coffee with friends, remodel the living room. The interest in reading will come back , don’t worry about that

There’s a whole lot of options you can do… I’ve been in slumps more than I can remember and tbh it sucks because I love to read so much. You just have to see what works for you. Either stop reading for a while and do a totally different thing, maybe catch up on something else. Or try a totally different genre, and my all time favourite when I’m in a slump is to re read a favourite book even if I don’t read it from cover to cover. Also comics are a great thing to give a shot. But don’t worry it will come back to you in no time

Find a movie about a book you really loved. Watch it. You’ll be back to reading soon!

I dont hurry up reading. I let it hang sometimes.
Usually often.
And comeback. If it gets finished or not. No pressure. It is supposed to be “read” without it.

don’t worry about it … nothing to be helped … go with the flow … don’t read …

that is philosophically correct, you are being influence by your environment, you surely can not read because reading is the correct thing to do, find a 400paged good book with 10paged chapters, break after finishing every chapter by the time you reach chapter 30 you will be wanting to finish the book in a single breath, depending on the environment, culture, norms, values, reading for entertainment can be obtuse.
