This is, seriously, one of the best books I’ve ever read. I don’t remember the last time I cried so hard that I couldn’t read the words on the page. I loved everything about Henry’s Sisters. Thank you so much for writing it!
I talked to @Cathy about Henry’s Sisters, the only book I have been unable to completely read because I am the mother of an autistic daughter. Maybe one day I will be able to go back to reading it ❤
I really hope that you finish because I feel like Henry can teach us all a little bit about unconditional love and he just warms your ❤️ and it’s such a great book!!
Thank you @Michelle ❤ I know both my daughters have taught me the true meaning of unconditional love, the kind I believe God gives. They have been through me divorcing their dad with a restraining order and a second divorce. All the way showing me how much they love me and just want me to be happy. Thank you for your encouragement ❤
It is the reality of the developmental disabilities for me. Cathy, I know I will get back to it one day, maybe when I don’t feel like I am fighting our state for what Sis needs and what is best for her ❤
I privately messaged Cathy about what the State of Oregon has done to our families as to not start a political rant, lol. As a retired school counselor, I admire you @Sylvia, I couldn’t deal with some of the families and their demands to be honest. I prided myself on not being one of the “mother’s from hell” to our school district. I served on boards and councils with admins referring families to me for help, I know it isn’t always that way. Thank you for all you did to help the kids with unique abilities ❤
Thanks so much, Robin. I worked with mostly teens who had emotional issues, and loved them to pieces. I still do, now that the majority of them are happy, healthy, and have families of their own. I still communicate with several, after this being my 12TH year of retirement, and meet a few of them for lunch and to catch up. They will ALWAYS have a special piece of my heart! Don’t give up. You’re the best advocate for your child. I wish you all of the best, and hope you have some compassionate counselors on the other side of our country!

@Robin Henry has Down’s Syndrome, not autism. But I understand how it hit too close to home, I do.

It’s always a battle. This from a retired school counselor!
