A Coney Island of the Mind by Lawrence Ferlingetti
Flying Out With the Wounded by Anne Caston. It is an amazing book. The poems are heartbreaking, but beautiful. I don’t know anyone else who has read it, and that makes me sad.
The penguin book of Irish verse? Leaves of grass by Walt Whitman, the Poetical Works of Longfellow, and my two favorites: the gospel in our image: an anthology of twentieth century poetry based on biblical texts, and the Complete Collected Poems of Maya Angelou. To name a few <3
I loved Rod McKuen – might be considered old school now
Nikita Gill is my absolute favorite. Her writings just call to me.
Amanda Lovelace (the princess saves herself in this one) and her husband Cyrus Parker (Dropkick Romance) both have great books.
R.H. Sin is also a great writer.
