I haven’t. I have read Charlaine Harris’ other series, Aurora Teagarden. I’ve enjoyed that.

I preferred the books to the TV series. I liked how the books had their own arc but they were also part of a series. Liked her other, other series too, grave surprise, about a young woman struck by lightning and then has powers to help solve murders
She’s a good writer

They’re good. First half is a bit better than the last half of the series. Too many new characters introduced with each book and not enough focus on older characters for me.

The books are fantastic. The storyline is different to the series as the creator of True Blood did not want the readers to know the storyline.

I enjoyed them (up until the ending which I was disappointed by)
Her writing is engaging. It’s not like the best writing in the world or a classic, literary masterpiece but the books are entertaining, funny, smutty and supernatural and worth a look.
I enjoyed the tv series True Blood as well but they go off in wildly different directions!

Loved them! The show on HBO- not so much. Go for the books on this one. If you watch the show first. you might never pick up the first book

Nothing like the show..The show was okay with parts that irritated me as they deviated too much.

There was even one episode where I quit watching the show because they were turning Sookie into a ho.

Read them. If you watched true blood, the TV series doesn’t follow the books much after season 1. Books were really good

Yes and they are wicked good books! The books are waayyy better than the show. Seasons 1&2 are really similar to books 1&2, but those are the only ones that are close to what was originally written. The last few seasons that aired were just ??? and were nothing like the books. Like, Bill being a weird blood God, that was so dumb lol.
I won’t spoil who she ends up with in the end in the books, but she really should’ve ended up with him in the TV show. And I dunno about anyone else but I was super disappointed when they didn’t incorporate Quinn in the show

Charlene Harris taught me that romance and fantasy can be fun, both to read and write. I enjoyed the series. Certainly allowed me to write romance as a fun genre without quite as much angst as normal.
