I love them. I mean…they’re clearly for younger readers but if you a) are a younger reader or b) enjoy that kind of story then you might enjoy them as well
You love the movies ? Then you are going to fall head over heels for the books. There are 5 books in the series but only 2 movies. 5 books have been cramped into a mind numbing display of 3 hours or so.
The movies were very simplified, especially the second one :p I’m usually really good about watching movies made from books even if it’s a bad adaptation, but Sea of Monsters just lost so much of the plot
I am just getting happier and more keen to read these by the minute. Clause I’m currently about half way through city of heavenly by Cassandra Clare but I’ve read it a few times so it’s starting to lose some of its interest….
I really recommend them then. I recently revisited the audiobooks. There’s a certain amount of silliness, but they’re great adventure stories all the same. Plus there’s a whole bunch.
*nod* yep. The second series includes Percy in it though he’s no longer the sole central perspective (he also isn’t in the first one but has a major role after that). The third really just has Percy in a minor role so far and focuses on Apollo (the less said the better, ’cause spoilers)
I’ve read them all, they fabulous! I read the first five in five days ✌?️ It was that situation where I wanted to know how they ended but didn’t want them to end?
That series is fantastic….It’s what got me to love reading so much. When I was in fourth grade, The Lightening Thief was recommended to me, and I have loved reading ever since ( I am now a Sophmore in college).
I tried to read the first one and it was just … not written for adults. I found it kind of trite, stereotypical, and shallow. I mean, even with all the impracticalities of adapting the various inappropriate elements of Greek mythology into a YA book, I still think it could have been handled more creatively. Maybe they got better as the series continued; I just couldn’t get into it.
I haven’t but my sister in law has read the books and has them and she said they are good so I think kill have to borrow hers and read them at some point.
They are classified as middle grade so of course the writing style is aimed at that audience. It’s written without the intention of it being for older audiences. At least not until the Heroes of Olympus series. I love the Percy Jackson series. Hands down one of my favourite series. They’re just really fun reads with great characters ^^ I personally think they’re the kind of books that are enjoyable for all ages 🙂
i lOVE THEM SO MUCH EVEN TO THIS DAY. i’ve read them multiple times. they’re so good. ah gosh. highly recommend times 1000. nothing like the movies. way better.
Yes it is one of my favorite series. I have read most of Riordan series and this is my favorite one. I’m big into mythology like my youngest brother so we read this series together ??
YES!!!!!!!! IT’S THE REASON WHY I LOVE TO READ JCEJHUFHHFCS <3 <3 <3
You could learn a lot from mythologies from Uncle Rick's books. You don't need to know who's the god of this and that because the book will fill you in. They're humorous and factual at the same time that you won't get bored with all the talking about gods.
Soooo so good, it’s great seeing the characters appear in other books too. I loved the Percy Jackson books but i got more obsessed with them in Heros of Olympus
Listened to the first Trials of Apollo and wasn’t really wowed by it but I’ve been told that Magnus Chase is great and that the 2nd Trials of Apollo was better than the first.
Has anyone read any books by Karen Moning? Ive been reading her faefever series . They are sort of paranormal fiction. I just finished the 0th in the series and really like them.
I love them! The second series I enjoyed, but not nearly as much. Haven’t read the Magnus Chase ones or Trials of Apollo, but I’ve heard great things about them.
Let me put it this way, my best friend traveled to Korea and asked me if I wanted anything. I said the only thing I wanted was a Korean edition of The Lightning Thief (first book) well apparently it’s not popular at all in Korea so she had to special order it with a Korean phone number which she had to get a friends because it was the only thing I wanted and it’s beautiful. It’s my favorite series and was my gateway book into reading. I hated reading until I was a teenager and found Percy Jackson and wouldn’t change it for the world I’ve been so blessed after finding that series I can say with complete certainty that it changed my life and I would not be the same person without that series.
Yes! I loved the series. I will warn you though, starting Percy Jackson and The Olympians series will lead you to want to read the spinoffs and then there’s another series that he tied in with Percy’s and you’ll never be able let them go. Totally read it! ?
I love them. I mean…they’re clearly for younger readers but if you a) are a younger reader or b) enjoy that kind of story then you might enjoy them as well
Yes
I’ve been thinking about reading them. Cause I absolutely love the movies but haven’t read the books.
You love the movies ?

Really? Cause that 9ne is actually my favourite. Does that mean it’s gears better in books?
Far, far better. The two stories are much more tied together and they missed a LOT of story in the movies in return for more action scenes.
I am just getting happier and more keen to read these by the minute. Clause I’m currently about half way through city of heavenly by Cassandra Clare but I’ve read it a few times so it’s starting to lose some of its interest….

How many books of them are there?
like 13 now I think? A 5 book series, a 6 book series, and the current one which is 2 and counting.
Oh there’s different series of Percy Jackson?
*nod* yep. The second series includes Percy in it though he’s no longer the sole central perspective (he also isn’t in the first one but has a major role after that). The third really just has Percy in a minor role so far and focuses on Apollo (the less said the better, ’cause spoilers)
Lmao if you loved the movies you’re going to have a good time with the series! I hated the movies. I stopped watching after the first movie.
Love them
Loved them.
Worth the read! Much better than than the movies but they did a great adaptation though.
One of my favorite series! They’re really good!
Yes. Totally worth a read. Don’t worry if people say it’s childish; it isn’t.
I’ve read them all, they fabulous! I read the first five in five days ✌?️ It was that situation where I wanted to know how they ended but didn’t want them to end?
YAAAS. You won’t regret it esp if you love Greek/Roman myth.

I enjoyed the first series. Am planning to read The Heroes of Olympus.

Nice. Can’t wait to actually read them.
It’s the best
LOVE them. I have the entire collection,
They’re great!!!! Although Im kind of disappointed with the last book because of the place where it takes place and it’s too fast…

Yes, and they are amazing!

Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard are more recent and I have not yet read them.
Listened to the first Trials of Apollo and wasn’t really wowed by it but I’ve been told that Magnus Chase is great and that the 2nd Trials of Apollo was better than the first.
