Has anyone read the Mortal Engine books? And if you have, are you looking forward to the movie?

I audiobooked them when I heard they would be Peter Jackson’s next subject. The first book is a fantastic story and the movie should be very much worth a watch.
I read the first one and now I’m thinking about listening to the rest. I wonder if the movie will cover the first book only or all 3 books. I home it’s LOTR style and we get 3 movies
No but read ur post and just bought them. Thanks sounds interesting.
They were my favourite books as a kid and I reread them a few months back and enjoyed them just as mjch. I think there might be a few slight changes to the story in the film but that always happens and I’m still prebooking my tickets for the opening night.
Haha thank you, there are so many book that I adore that have been made for screen and don’t always stay true but you do have to seperate them. Same as you the Hobbit and LOTR are books close to me yet I love the films too because they mirror that world in a different way and it gives me other ways to enjoy Tolkein and the same goes with ice and fire/ game of thrones. It is inevitable that the shows will never be true to the books but you just have to enjoy them regardless.
I read them when I was about 13 -I liked them but I don’t remember them too well now. Movie trailer looks good though so I’ll probably go see
I just started it this morning.
No but I’m wondering if it is worth reading them before I watch the film ?
@Joanne from the trailer it looks like they stay pretty true to the book.
@Jose thank you. I don’t want to read it too close to the film or it may spoil the impact
Read them some years ago so forgotten a lot of the story so will be going to see the film see what I remember
Read the first one was a good story…easy to read..not very descriptive..like Tolkien or George R Martin..but I enjoyd it and im looking forward to the movie.
