It has mixed reviews, some love it some hate it. I thought it was ok, a decent read but I didn’t rave or love it. Not seen the movie, I think the fact the setting was changed annoyed people xxx

I really liked the book! It did take a bit for me to get into it though. However, I did listen to the audio book which may have helped because the narration was good.
I have yet to see the movie.

I found it slow to start but liked the ending. I haven’t seen the film but (as usual!) it will be radically different from the book. Why set it in the US?

It was okay but nowhere near as good as I’d hoped. I haven’t watched the film yet and not too fussed about it.

There are two different books by two different authors. The Girl On The Train is by Paula Hawkins and Girl on a Train is by A J Waines . The film is based on the former….although reset in America…..why? I have no idea!
Easy to confuse the two books.

I saw The Girl on the Train on DVD before it was out in the cinema. As well as two different books, there are two different films. Totally confused!

Book and film are different – the book is interesting in that you are dealing with an unreliable narrator.

The book wasn’t fast paced enough for me. Was good getting different view points from each character involved, however this writing style divides opinions as some people don’t like the “jumping” from one story to another.

I enjoyed it and was rooting for Rachel. The only thing I would say, as in a lot of crime books, once you have eliminated certain suspects, there only leaves one so you know who the killer is quite early on. Despite being a bit disappointed by the outcome, it’s well written and I found Rachel likeable but damaged. I would recommend it. I want to see the film even though it looks like it’s been terribly Americanized! x

That’s what put me off the film was having read a very British book I saw it had been ruined by the American version.

I read this and then went to see the film. Was very confused as completely different stories. Then noticed slight difference in titles. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Girl-Train-J-Waines-ebook/dp/B00JXLMDP2/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1484445868&sr=1-3&keywords=girl+on+a+train

I enjoyed it as an audiobook to listen to when working. Was disappointed by the film in the way they set it in the US. Would have been better left as set in London/ outskirts but still enjoyed the film separately.
