I loved the book. I haven’t seen the film.
It has mixed reviews, some love it some hate it. I thought it was ok, a decent read but I didn’t rave or love it. Not seen the movie, I think the fact the setting was changed annoyed people xxx
I gave up on it, I found it jumped about too much!!! but my friends loved it! x
Tried it twice and gave up.
I really loved the book.Movie not as good.
Horrible book
Very very overrated
Hated the film ?
Seen the film, not read the book. Have heard that the book is very slow paced
I really liked the book! It did take a bit for me to get into it though. However, I did listen to the audio book which may have helped because the narration was good.
I have yet to see the movie.
I enjoyed it but think my mum gave up on it
I enjoyed the book.
I loved it but didn’t like the movie xxx
Loved it!!
I loved the book based on that went to see the film.. Waterstones Norwich put me on to that one
worth every minute x
Marmite book. Book I absolutely loved it x
It was an okay thriller but not worthy of the hype.
Definitely Marmite. And I don’t like Marmite 😉
Loved the book but the film disappointed.
I thought it was ok but nothing special.Never bothered with the film
I thought it was over rated snd crap . I’d say read it urself then make up ur own mind .Be a wolf not a sheep !!! Mx
I tried it and gave up. Didn’t grip me at all but thoroughly enjoyed the film
Brilliant read ⚘
I loved it. Give it a go.
I read it to the end but at times I wanted to bin it.
Enjoyed the book
Loved it. Gave up on the film after 5 mins though.
I loved the book and I enjoyed the film xx
Read it but not impressed but each to their own it’s a good job we all like different things ! X
I thought it was ok – bit predictable- I’ve still got the film to watch x
I’m reading it at the moment. Its ok. Ive read a lot better. ?
It was ok . Not worth all the hype. I’ve read much better books that didnt get any hype. X
I didn’t like the book. Slow and predictable.
Loved it!!!!
Thought it was OK but rather over hyped tbh. Haven’t seen the film but don’t know what they set in the US instead!
I really enjoyed it, bit far fetched in places, but worth reading
I liked it, was a bit slow in spots but picked up. The ending was good.
It s a great read , I had a good time reading it !
I enjoyed the book, but didn’t think much of the film. Probably because they set in the US.
I did not enjoy the book or the film as I have said on here last week. I left the book twice and then went back to it to finish. Its a bit hard to follow with the jumping etc but thats just me LOL its very well loved by tons
It’s not just you Andy, I thought that too, gave up on it in the end x
Loved the booked just seen the movie the other day and really didnt like it
Definitely did not live up to the hype. The main problem for me was I didn’t like the main characters. I was just glad to get it finished
Found this book disappointing .
I enjoyed both the book and the film.
I found it slow to start but liked the ending. I haven’t seen the film but (as usual!) it will be radically different from the book. Why set it in the US?
It was okay but nowhere near as good as I’d hoped. I haven’t watched the film yet and not too fussed about it.
There are two different books by two different authors. The Girl On The Train is by Paula Hawkins and Girl on a Train is by A J Waines . The film is based on the former….although reset in America…..why? I have no idea!
Easy to confuse the two books.
I saw The Girl on the Train on DVD before it was out in the cinema. As well as two different books, there are two different films. Totally confused!
I was just going to say the same about their being two books ?
Yes i enjoyed it. Forget the hype. Just read from an open mind. ?
Found it slow to start but got better
I thought it could’ve been written much better the story line is good but i wasnt a fan
Book and film are different – the book is interesting in that you are dealing with an unreliable narrator.
Wasn’t as good as I expected after all the write ups
I enjoyed the book but trailer for film looked crap so didn’t watch it xx
Read Big little lies instead.
I haven’t seen the film but loved the book x
I enjoyed the book.
I read the book then I watched the film,, the book is much better?
The book wasn’t fast paced enough for me. Was good getting different view points from each character involved, however this writing style divides opinions as some people don’t like the “jumping” from one story to another.
Definately much much better than the fillm saw the file cos hubby hadnt read book and wanted to see it thought the film was bad
Can’t get into it, will try again ….maybe
I enjoyed it and was rooting for Rachel. The only thing I would say, as in a lot of crime books, once you have eliminated certain suspects, there only leaves one so you know who the killer is quite early on. Despite being a bit disappointed by the outcome, it’s well written and I found Rachel likeable but damaged. I would recommend it. I want to see the film even though it looks like it’s been terribly Americanized! x
That’s what put me off the film was having read a very British book I saw it had been ruined by the American version.
I gave up on it. So boring
I couldn’t get in to it either
i did manage to get all the way through it is pretty slow and it took me a while to get through it but i am glad i stuck it out, i havent seent he film so didnt know what the outcome was
I enjoyed it more than my husband did. In the film I thought the main character was acted very well. But it is a difficult book to turn into film.
I didnt like it
I hated it when I was pregnant… But fuck me its worth of xxx
I read this and then went to see the film. Was very confused as completely different stories. Then noticed slight difference in titles. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Girl-Train-J-Waines-ebook/dp/B00JXLMDP2/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1484445868&sr=1-3&keywords=girl+on+a+train
Good but not as good as it was hyped up to be.
I enjoyed it but wouldn’t say it was brilliant. Not seen the film so can’t compare with that. Worth a read I would say.
not bad,but not as good as the hype,i agree emma
I enjoyed it as an audiobook to listen to when working. Was disappointed by the film in the way they set it in the US. Would have been better left as set in London/ outskirts but still enjoyed the film separately.
