There were times I had to put it down and walk away, but I had to see that brave girl through to the end. I am glad I stuck it out. It was probably over the top in its dark moments, but they made you understand so much about the central character. It ended up being one of my best reads (hard to say favorite…) of last year. I still think of this book often.

Thank you all for your comments. I read the book and wouldn’t recommend without great forewarning as it deals with such a disturbing subject and not sure people could deal with it. I did think it was beautifully written and certainly spellbinding as I just had to know what the ending would be. I could echo what all of you wrote who did finish the book. I would not recommend to my book club as it’s such a dark subject and appreciate the “discussion “ you provided me as I really wondered how others reacted.
