go to the site and browse the giveaways! i check back daily and enter the “ending soonest,” and I’ve found that’s the best way to increase your chances!
Its all random. Go to Goodreads’ site, then go into the giveaways tab. There’s a bunch of genres to choose from, and you can make a preference of ebook or paperback, or both.
I won a few weeks ago and got a great book by a an author I’ve never read before. It was exciting to open the mailbox and see the book there. And it was a great book
They don’t? Because I just checked the eligibility for someone else and it says on their website that all participants must be legal citizens of the US, Canada, or British Columbia.
I’ve won some. Recently I found out I won a Kay Bratt book several weeks ago. They are not great at letting you know you won, sometimes they just show up.
You can search Goodreads Giveaways on you phones browser and the link will open it on the app. There isn’t a direct way to find it on the app so you have to bypass it with the browser.
Yes, I’m reading one right now. I won 6 back to back then had like 3 weeks no activity because I was really sick and still working…. Now that I’m active every day again I won another one ☺
@Claire yes USA I did enter about 20 every Friday evening. Always went for the ones ending soon and a lot of non fiction. I did notice that a lot that I won were also Amazon first reads so I was wondering if they sent out books to everyone that entered. But I’m just guessing. I also tried to win kids books but did not get any of those.
I’m pretty sure goodreads giveaways works with some type of algorithm. The more active you are on the website the better your chances to win. Also, the more giveaways you enter the higher the chances, that’s law of average.
I have won three times over the past year. I got 2 Kindle books and one paperback. I also entered a lot of giveaways and many of them were ones that not many others had entered.
Yes I have won a few.
I’ve won once.
I won a few weeks ago! Was a nice surprise. Just waiting for the book.

How do you get notified if you win? Just curious
@Lisa I got an email saying I won and that the publisher would mail it in 4-6weeks.
You’ll get an email
@Shelli I was wondering if there was something else behind it …. like I would get a bunch of junk mail in my mailbox after giving my address
@Camille Good Question. So far no junk ?

Sadly no, since most of the time it’s been limited to the US only ?
How do you win these books?
Its all random. Go to Goodreads’ site, then go into the giveaways tab. There’s a bunch of genres to choose from, and you can make a preference of ebook or paperback, or both.
@Cherie thanks for your help. Is it also for Canadian ?
@Louiselle I just double checked to make sure, Canada and British Columbia are also eligible. ?
Yes I’ve one several. Mostly ebooks. Paperbacks are harder to win
How do you even win them?
Yeah, I think I won about 3/4? But I haven’t bothered since they changed their giveaways. There’s barely any come up anymore.
The UK giveaways on Goodreads has stopped now.
I won a few weeks ago and got a great book by a an author I’ve never read before. It was exciting to open the mailbox and see the book there. And it was a great book
None. I’ve entered a few but they don’t do giveaways outside of the US now.
They don’t? Because I just checked the eligibility for someone else and it says on their website that all participants must be legal citizens of the US, Canada, or British Columbia.
How can we participate? Can anyone help me out??
@Pranesh you have to go to Goodreads and enter giveaways. They’re only available to US members currently I think though.

I’ve entered so many but can never win! ??
Giveaways? I didn’t know they did that.
I think it has to be done on desktop or laptop; I don’t think you can find them on the app.
I use my phone, but Victoria is correct, you’ll have to go to their site. It isn’t on the app.
You can search Goodreads Giveaways on you phones browser and the link will open it on the app. There isn’t a direct way to find it on the app so you have to bypass it with the browser.
Yes. Once
Yeah a few times
Yes like 3 or 4 times

@Claire yes USA I did enter about 20 every Friday evening. Always went for the ones ending soon and a lot of non fiction. I did notice that a lot that I won were also Amazon first reads so I was wondering if they sent out books to everyone that entered. But I’m just guessing. I also tried to win kids books but did not get any of those.
@Pen that’s interesting don’t think we get it that good in the UK!! Can’t even enter any at the moment!!??!!
Wow, I didn’t know there was that much difference since there are mostly kindle books offered. Seems unfair.

I’m pretty sure goodreads giveaways works with some type of algorithm. The more active you are on the website the better your chances to win. Also, the more giveaways you enter the higher the chances, that’s law of average.
Yes 4 times
Once. And I hadn’t even realized I won until the book showed up in my mailbox one day.
Probably should have paid more attention.
I have won three times over the past year. I got 2 Kindle books and one paperback. I also entered a lot of giveaways and many of them were ones that not many others had entered.
