Lord Peter Wimsey books, by Dorothy L. Sayers, if you like the idea of an English gentleman-detective from the ’20s or so. I don’t usually read detective tales, but I found them, and their PBS adaptations, pretty cool.

Or Ellis Peters’ Brother Cadfael books, if you like medieval monk detectives.

PERRI O’SHAUGHNESSY – HAS SOME AWESOME READS. Perri O’Shaughnessy is the pen name for two sisters, Mary and Pamela O’Shaughnessy. Together they have written twelve Nina Reilly legal thrillers, a stand-alone thriller, Keeper of the Keys, and one short story collection, Sinister Shorts… SOME OF THEIR BOOKS – MOVE TO STRIKE, UNFIT TO PRACTICE, ACTS OF MALICE, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. I HAVE READ LOTS OF THEIR BOOKS AND LOVE THEM ALL.

Right now I am reading Dean Koontz’s The Silent Corner (and I haven’t read his work in years!) about an FBI agent, Jane Hawk, that left with no choice, goes rogue. Word of warning; It’s a really good read and it’s one in a series!
