The Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton. It’s unusual in that while not every book in her series involves a murder, they always involve a puzzle of some kind. They also have a touch of paranormal to them (I generally am not a big fan of paranormals but this one worked for me).

Hmmm… I wouldn’t place Louise Penny in the cozy mystery category. Her canon offers more complex characterizations and provides greater insights into human behavior. In cozy mysteries, recurring characters rarely surprise you. In Louise Penny’s mysteries you get the art world, corruption at the highest levels of law enforcement, drug and alcohol addiction, super guns, a remote monastery, and the vast Canadian landscape we Americans think we know so well. And you get Three Pines, that charming little border village we all wish we could find, so different from the predictable sea coast towns and southern towns that we find in cozy mysteries.

Juliet Blackwell has two great series but my favorite it the Home Renovation series! Even my college age son got into them. Their fun, funny and keep you guessing and oh a ghost or two popping up here and there.
