Oh yes yes yes. It was life changing for me. Opened my eyes to racism. I still have my copy from the 1960s. And I still think of it often.

I’m wrong. ? There’s a book called Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn. I was thinking of a book about the Biblical David but I was mistaken on that too. I googled Irving Stone and it doesn’t mention his being the author of that. I apologize.

This was my favorite book many many years ago – but unfortunately it carries mores of the time it was written so I would say appreciate it as a period piece – like Advice and Consent- and enjoy the love story and the story of friendships
