I read 14 Cows for America and Most People to my 5th graders
Have also read this for many years to both 4th and 5th. Also, Kids Are Authors’ book: September 12th.

I cried the whole way through it, having been in a community that lost members. I might pair it with William Stafford’s poem,
“At the Un-national Monument.” (Sorry)
