Does anyone else get tired of reading a book in the middle of it and want to start a new book? Or is that just me?

Not very often but currently reading once upon a dream … it’s a bit slow and I think I might swap for a different book and come back later

Happens to me too more than once, when it’s the case, I simple switch, and when I finish the new one I started, there is a 90 percent chance, I finish the other one, I was reading in the first place.or I start a new one

I read 5-7 books at a time. This way I can switch to whatever genre or story I am craving. Ultimately, I think I finish more books this way.

I have no idea how you do that, I just can’t … ???

Karen

I find it tends to rather either or with this. Some people thrive on it and it makes other people crazy. I don’t have a problem keeping them all straight.

1
Cameron

I could do it, I would just have to make notes of each book … ???

1
Cameron

I’m a total quitter!???

Only if they start drawing out too much explaining, and don’t just continue with the storyline

Worse.. I get within 60-70 pages of the end and start worrying about what my next book is going to be. Often screws up the end of the book I’m currently reading.

Happens to me too.

Think it depends how much your enjoying the story tbh ?

1
Reply
Cindy

Usually only if I’m re reading a long series.
It’s not that I’m not enjoying the book it’s just that I am bored with what I’m reading at the time and I will read another book take a little break and I can finish the series happily.

It has happened a few times and it’s an unpleasant feeling. Different than when you’re angry with a character or unhappy with a plot twist. It’s a gradual waning of your interest in the story until you don’t care what happens anymore. At this point I usually put the book back on the shelf and pick up another.

0

Only when I’m not really enjoying the book. I know a lot of people who like to read more than one book at a time though.

1

I have done that. I hate quitting but then I remember life is too short to struggle through a book…and that helps me to throw the boring book across the room (not literally) and go find one that is calling my name

I finish most that I read, even when I have started 3 or 4. I got used to reading like that in high school and college.

Katie

Sometime I get a hold of a book I’m just not feeling but when I’ve come halfway I have to finish it. Except for Outlander that’s the only book I couldn’t finish.

what kind of books do you like?

1
Alex

I like Nora Roberts a lot. Or anything Syfy, or romance. I have a ton of books but I just can’t pick one! Lol

0
Julie

@Alex well is there a certain book you are always looking at? IF I tell you to find me a book, what would you pick out, it doesn’t matter if you have read it before, the really good books need to be read more then once.

1
Chrissie

Oh yes that happens a lot! Like now, I’m reading a good book but I’m so excited to start my next book I just wanna leave this one but I won’t, I will finish it…
