I do. I mean I did take the time to read all those pages again. If you change the edition on your reread it counts it as two books for you so it doesn’t mess with your end of the year challenge on Goodreads.

They now have it to where it counts your rereads anyway! On the computer but not on the app

Tika

It does count them on the app, as I dont use the computer version

1
Brandy

It used to change your original read date to the new one and remove the book from the “read” total for the year you first read it.

1
Lindsey

No not anymore. Like when I log in on the computer it has that I’ve read City of bones five times (or four I don’t remember) and it has all the dates!

2
Brandy

Well that’s a great improvement!!! I like tracking the amount of pages I read each year so when it changed them I would get so angry lol

2
Lindsey

I definitely understand that

Yes I do. I read the book even if I have read it before.

I do. I guess I’m counting what I’ve read, not whether they are “new reads”.

Yeah definitely I read it twice so it should go on the list twice… The only reread I don’t count is To Kill a Mockingbird because I read it every year

I was thinking that also…I want to reread a couple of books that I read and recorded years ago and want to know how it works. You still are investing time in the reading soooo……

I know, right? Maybe I should count with both ways

No, I do not. I also do not obsess and worry about the number of books I read. Reading is fun, not a chore.

You’re right of course, it’s just fun to see the number of books I’ve read increase!

1
Maia

Yeah. Reading is fun. But I still write down when I finish a book. Have since the beginning of 2016. It only takes two minutes and saves me a lot of grief. There are some books that I read before 2016 that I can’t remember WHEN I read them and I want to know, but can’t remember for the life of me. I like knowing when I read something. I don’t know why I care, but I do. So I write them down.

Yep as long as it’s the first time this year I’ve read it. I read Harry Potter twice last year but didn’t count the second time.

Goodreads now has the option to count your rereads. They are still books you read.

I read purely for fun and entertainment but keeping track this year just out of curiosity. My challenge is to get my chores done ??

you could try adding another edition of the book. There are usually more than one.

1
Corinne

You can edit it to add another read.

Yeah. If I want to know how many I read in a single year, a re-read counts. I read that book in that year. (For me there are usually years in between a re-read)
If I was keeping track of reading over my whole life, (I’m not able to) then I’d say each title is counted once.
