Ugh! I only made the first 30 minutes!

I have not yet seen a good Time Machine adaptation. For that matter, I didn’t care for Tom Cruise’s War of the Worlds either. I think the problem is I am not an HG Wells fan..

Jänet

I love H G Wells. I think the adaptations were at fault. ?

I didn’t like The Color Purple as much as I liked the novel

Have watched the movie. Good but slightly confusing. Have not read the book (yet).

There are some movie adaptations that I just won’t see because I know ahead of time how the original story that I loved has been screwed with. The Good German is one of those.

The Help. Some great actors but some key points changed.

I haven’t dared watch this as I liked the book a lot. Don’t want it ruined by the movie!

1
Jänet

That’s a shame. What did they change?

PaulaQuestion author

@Allison I liked the movie a lot but I see your point

Allison

biggest thing was the nanny’s child who was sent away because she was biracial, is supposed to return and shock the white ladies with her behaviour as she looks black and walks into the house, talks etc as if she’s equal. (Obviously she is but I meAn in this time and place it is shocking). Instead the actress looks white. It’s not shocking. It makes no sense.

Jänet

Ah yes. I’d forgotten that. Thanks ?

The Three Musketeers 2011. I. Hated. That. Movie. As a matter of fact, hatred isn’t even a strong enough word to describe how I feel about this movie.

Anything Dean Koontz… aside from Odd Tomas… every other film was a real let down…

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I normally like Tim Burton and him using Dahl as source material should have been epic. But… Willy Wonka is suddenly Michael Jackson

Couldn’t agree more. I just couldn’t accept Johnny Depp as Wonka
