I looooove the tv show. So I’m thinking reading the books. But I’m scared it won’t be as similar and ruin the beautiful Jamie fraser and his magnificent accent on tv.
@Daphne The books are richer and the series does a very good job interpreting Diana’s work, she is a consultant on the show and has done a cameo and written for the series as well…go for it!
Yes read the whole series but haven’t gone for the Lord John spin offs etc. It’s a long read but I loved it and missed the characters when I was gone and was homesick for Fraser’s Ridge for ages.

I started reading it and it was a little slow so I stopped. Will be reading it again this week since I have to for Bookclub. Heard so many great things about this series so I’m going to stick with it and finish it.
Love it–I’m on book 3 now.

It’s slow at first, but the book is good. The books are super lengthy though and a very long series (estimated of 10 books plus a prequel).

They actually do a fantastic job on the show and it’s a good, non-mutilated version of the book series. You’ll love the books if u love the show

Brilliant, although the last 2 books got a little repetitive
I have just found a book in the charity shop, but not the first! So it will have to go on the back burner until I find the first….
Bought the first four books and did not reading until I read all four! I did continue the series and loved them!
