I made a copy of the family tree In the front of the book and wrote various things on it as I read to tie it all together. It helped, and I enjoyed all three books.

I read the first book on my kindle so I was able to use the X-ray function to go back and learn the characters. That helped to keep from confusing everyone but the X-ray doesn’t always tell you exactly what you want to know. I am reading the second book now and it flows much better. Probably because most of the characters are repeats.

I really liked it and have devoured whole series now. I just had to roll w it and not stress on who was related to who and enjoy the story. It took my OCD a bit to not refer to family tree but it’s not historical fiction. Loved readng about the locations. Kwan weaves it back together for the most part. Haven’t seen movie yet but looking forward to it.

Didn’t read it but just finished the sequel. It was tough keeping all the character together. Lots of characters but not a huge lot of development. Skimmed the surface on about 30 characters.
