Almost finished my 2nd lol ? do have a toddler , 2 kids and a house to run
I read about 3 books but February has been a busy month as I was at a book signing for holly black and Cassandra Clare but hopefully March will be better
Starting no. 16
None. 🙁 I am reading just my statistics book for my class. Eventually, I will increase the amount of books.
@Hazael I do understand
37 so far 😀
On my 9th ?

@Antonella 5 is good!
I have lost count?????
I’m on my 27th
I’m in a horrible slump. None
@Denise it happens
@Denise it was 2 years like that to me. Then I started lightly pushing myself and now I am back in the game! Dont give up ❤️
On my 9th
I’m such a slacker
17 so far
I’m reading 24 & 25 now
28 so far
I try to read 24-30 books a year. I am behind a bit as I have only read 3 so far this year. I am a quality not quantity reader. I have a long list of books I want to read, probably enough for five years. I may have to up my game lol
2. Don’t judge me.
There is no judgement here. It’s great that you have read 2. Some people never read any books.
None :'( I just want to sit down and read but I’ve just not had the time
10 so far but only 6 of them were new
1 so far ? 3 on the go
gurl same. I work third shift in a mental health facility so I have a lot of down time
I just begun the 13th today, but only two of those first 12 books were read in february, so there is no telling how many I get to enjoy in any given year it varies wildly, from barely 50 to 200+. Depends on what life throws at me.
Going to start #10 today after work.
2, very long ones
81 not counting audiobooks
@Mary in 60 days??
@Mary how have you read 81 books?
@Dawn I am single, no kids at home or even in the same state. I have over 4000 books in my house so I don’t have to go out searching for any.https://www.goodreads.com/%5Buser slug=”u1930871992″ first_name=”Mary” last_name=”Rand”]
@Mary 4000 books! That’s an impressive librarium!!
@Brad I am 71. It is a lot of years of collecting and I have never been able to get the same movers twice.
@Mary that explains it…..that is an IMPRESSIVE library that you have…. ??
@Mary Amazing!!! I wonder what your reading speed is? Do you do Rapid Reading techniques like using hand gestures to speed up your reading? I wonder if you apply the method of NOT sub-vocalizing when reading? Gosh, doesn’t your brain burn afterwards with information overload? How do you cope?
P.S.: Apologies for the barrage if questions! This has piqued my curiosity. I’ve been trying to up my reading speed for years.
@Sherryl I read two books today so I am taking a break and doing this. I can speed read but I don’t. I just read fast. I can’t answer the sub_vocalizing question. I only sleep 4 hours a day so that gives me extra reading hours.
@Sherryl Reading speed, I used to know years ago but I have forgotten.
@Mary Yea, I’d agree with you on just reading speedily out of years of practice. You get to appreciate the book better by just going at your own pace. I can’t work with not subvocalizing especially when reading fiction. Subvocalizing refers to having that voice in your head vocalise the text you’re reading. This is how we first taught to learn to read as kids… by vocalizing each alphabet we see. So it gets programmed in us and we continue to vocalize what we read in our heads.
@Sherryl Thanks. I wasn’t familiar with the term but that is what I do.
Sadly just 3… this year I really don’t have time ?
@Letizia there’s no reason to feel sad!
6 working on 7 ?
Three so far. Working on the fourth. I’ll read while watching something online or DVD so long as the show or movie’s in English. My sister and I have been doing that since we were children. If it’s a foreign language show or movie with subtitles don’t do dubbed. Can’t stand it, I end up paying more attention to the mouths not matching the words. I’ll watch the movie or an episode or two. Than read a chapter or two of the current book. Depending on just how long or short the chapter is. It’s not uncommon for me to read a book with near or more than a thousand pages print edition.
I’ve done this
17. Kind of amazed myself by that.
25 so far this year
I am on my 6th. Slow but steady vx
29 books so far
Less than normal :O Hardly had a chance to read during Feb but got to 11 so far :/
@Linda same thing… adult can be so hard!!!
I’m on my 9th book so far
Sadly just 6. I’m trying. I’m 6 behind schedule
On 23 now
Not many.. 2
11 I can’t finish vampire academy… It’s not interest anymore… but I can’t start with another one untill I finish the current book… ?
2 so far and halfway through the third
I’ve read 26 books so far.
28 so far! ??
On my 13th
47 so far ?
@Roberta I read very quickly.
49 so far
I am on book 6, which honestly is really good for me. My goal this year is 10! Lol. I will be exceeding past my goal considering I am reading the Game of Thrones series and The Shadow Hunter series. ?
@Tony, my dream job! ?.
7 here! Would have been more if I didn’t have to shovel so much snow!!!
Just finished 8
Actually I have read 4.. not 2..
6. But I did spend a couple days on Crazy Rich Asians (which I put down) and War and Peace (which I’m taking a break from).
I’m reading two at the moment, so soon it’ll be 8.
I’m working on 7 and 8 actually. Finished Educated today and started Mists of Avalon in book form and The Wife on audiobook today.
How does any read 18 books that fast!!!
A slow 8
Ok. I need y’all’s reading list.
1. A Column of Fire by Ken Follett
2. Calypso by David Sedaris
3. Becoming by Michelle Obama
4. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
5. The Truths We Hold by Kamala Harris
6. Educated by Tara Westover
(Taking a break from War and Peace)
Next up 7 and 8 will be:
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
How do u read that much??
I’m a children’s librarian. I count books I read to the kids and the ones I read before I put them on the shelves.
8 or 9
8 with 3 in progress
5 and one almost finished xx
Not as many as I’d like. 4.
13. I am retired!!!
Haven’t even finished 1 because I’m going through an extremely difficult time and have been depressed. It makes me sad I haven’t been reading much. Hopefully I will be able to soon.
Almost done with my first one
I’ve read 8 books in 2 months.
I’ve read 6 books so far.
(currently reading #25 & #26)
But I only managed to read two books last month; I’m in a slump ):
Meghan Bursey that’s a slump?? ?
25 reading #26 now
Only six so far, but I’m working on it ?
5 completed books, 3 in progress and the next 4 picked out. Nope I don’t have a problem ??♀️?
11 and almost finished with two more.
16. Apparently I’m 4 ahead of schedule 😀
Why would I count them?
I think about 4, but usually I’m swamped with my college stuff.
Not as much as I would’ve liked 🙁
8 of my 25 book goal.
@Dennis wow that’s impressive, which was your favourite?
Alexis Carew series.
@Dennis looks interesting
As a matter of fact, now re-reading, so good!
34 personal reads and the rest read aloud books to my family.
Not as many as I would like. Just 2 so far
I’m on No. 7
Around 5, I just finished this book 30 minutes ago. What an amazing memoir, I’m an atheist but can appreciate and admire their dedication to their faith- a real tear-jerker at the end.
i don’t keep track. I just read
My goal is 50 books this year and I have read 13 so far
24! My goal for this year is 70
Starting #26 today.
4… I’m slow
@Michele No one is slow…you read at your own speed and not for someone else!
@Michele remember some people are at different stages in their lives.
@Michele I typically only read before bed, so that’s only 20-60 a night.
@Sharon so true.
number dosent matter
7 of 50
I set a goal of 50…but am already at 22 completed!
Working on #7
Zilch. I’ve started several but just couldn’t find one to hold my attention. Just finishing off my first book of the year today.
20, includes 1 on Kindle and 1 of my childhood favorites.
16 finished and am currently about halfway through 7 more.
Í have nooo idea
Half through my 7th
im so disappointed with myself but 5
@Maddy I’m 5 also. I proud that iv finished that many so far lol
Don’t be disappointed
nah i just feel like ive been wasting my time on the internet instead of reading, normally i would have at least double at this point of the year
not including the ones i read online like wattpad and radish
attempting to finish my 1st one??
12 or 13. Not enough…
@Michele no contest. Just enjoy!
@Michele I just work way more than I want to, which doesn’t leave much time to read.
6 almost 7.
On my 15th…way behind because I had the flu for three weeks and it set me way back…
@Lisa heck, you’re never “behind!” You are where you are!
Hope you’re feeling better now
@Dodi Thanks!! Yes, I am feeling a whole lot better now!
@Lisa glad to hear it!!
I think we should all be proud, whether we’ve read 1 or 100. ❤️
@Michele I agree 100% ?! I’m proud of the few I have finished so far.
I’m glad somebody asked this question cuz it’s not how much time does a person spend reading aday
I’m on to my third book… I’m not doing so well. I hope to up my game. normally I do two books in a month. this time around it’s like I’m only managing one in a month. So disappointed in myself
Everyone reads at their own pace. Some faster then some, some slower then others. I’m among the slower. I’ve read 5 so far and am working on my 6th. And by golly lol I’m proud of that number! In my opinion if you’ve just read one book or are still working on your first one so far this year you should be proud. You dont have to read dozens of books a year to be a book lover! ?❤?
@Megan you are right 15 might be as far as i get for now cause when i come home from work all i want is sleep and then read on my days off
29 but I’ve been in a slump. N Ed to get back to daily reading and at audible
@Nathan if you call 29 a slump… lol! I’m in awe & not worthy ?
@Kay lol. Thanks proud of the King books the most. Their so long!
Better question is what have you learned so far? One for was that Stephen King went through the artist struggle just like.many of.us are … Nobody usually talks.about.the dark.times but rival in the good , this man has been humble enough to let everyone know that we’ve all been there , hopefully in the end we will have half the success that man.has
25, I think
2 but then I have other commitments
Not as many as I wish I had. 🙂
On book #12 now
On book #17 and #18 right now
I’ve finished 5 and almost finished 2 more
5, just started on 6!!
Just finished 17 & starting 18. Big snow expected tonight! ?
I’m only on book 2 right now. I wish it were more because I love to read. However, I haven’t had a lot of time to read.
@Dodi have you tried audio books? I get a lot more read this way, driving, lunch breaks, doing housework. I use Libby (OverDrive) through my library & it’s free!
I’ve never really been able to get into them for some reason. I tune out & get distracted too easy. But thanks for the suggestion!
I’m on 8.
Probably around 10.
I’m book #13 now ?
27 maybe ?
I’m on #5 & 6
Read 6. Reading books 7, 8, 9, and 10. Lol. My goal is 60.
I’m on book 2 of 2019
Have no idea. Don’t care about numbers. The story is what counts. I do log them, but don’t tally them until the evening of December 31. Then, I keep the number private because it has no bearing on the quality of the stories read. IMO.
Working on number 10.
