TBS just made a tv movie out of his first book and his second is the Italian secretary its about a dr who first applies psychology to catching murders 18 th century nyc is the setting

Rhys Bowen, Lee Strauss, and Charlaine Harris (check Aurora Teagarden series or Lily Bard or Harper Connelly) are good for cozy mysteries. Also, anything by Tana French.
The bibliophile mystery books by Kate Carlisle are pretty good.
