Alexa has some I’m sure!
Alexa Kay Fetterly

Personally I recommend anything by Ted Dekker, or Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Dekker’s novels are great because if you’re a Christian you’ll understand the underlying symbolism, but if not, you’ll just enjoy the story!

I second this!! Dekker has been my favorite author for like 12 years.

That is not funny, or kind.

1
Luke

Christian Grey?

0
Phoebe

@Luke She was referring to the religion, not the name. That is an Erotica & technically a BDSM novel. She’s looking for Fiction novels related to the Christian faith.

1
Luke

@Phoebe oh I don’t know what that is.

0
Phoebe

Well, I’m glad we were able to make the clarification. ?

REDEEMING LOVE!!!! It is a romance for sure but has so much else tied into. Value, self worth, parental issues, identity. Oh my gosh it’s so good. I recommend it to everyone. ???

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers!
Also anything by Ted Dekker, specially Kiss, Three, Skin, and the Circle Series. Frank Peretti has some really good ones, too, like This Present Darkness and The Prophet. I would recommend The Kensington Chronicles by Lori Wick if you like historical romance.

A Dekker lover!? Helloooooo! ??

1
Phoebe

Did you read Immanuel’s Veins?! ❤️??

1
Linda

@Phoebe YES! I LOVE Dekker! I’ve been reading his books for almost a decade now and I can’t get enough!
Sadly no. It’s hard finding Dekker books in Puerto Rico. The Christian fiction parts in bookstores are almost non-existent.

1
Phoebe

@Linda Do you have an e-reader by chance? Honest to God Dekker was practically my first introduction to real Fiction and Christian Fiction.

0
Linda

@Phoebe I’m getting one this Christmas to help solve that problem.
I can relate to that! I first read Dekker when my parents gave me Three as a prize for having all A’s back in 5th grade and I was HOOKED

1
Phoebe

@Linda Yes!! Immanuel’s Veins is a MUST (though the first 6 or so chapters are kind of dry.)

Also, Saint, Sinner & Project Showdown. That Trilogy is AMAZING!

1
Tracey

Love Dekker! The Circle series!

1
Connie

Dekker is a win for sure.

1
Linda

@Phoebe I’ve heard many good things about Saint. I’ll get them as soon as I can! Do you have any writers that you can compare to his writing?

1

Kelli

Just a side note for this one, it is not written by a Christian, but by a Jew, and the storyline is not scriptural at all. It is a take on the Bible story, but not Christian fiction. 🙂

1
Brandy

This is true, I just associate it with that time period and with the characters from the bible

1
Kelli

It is an interesting read for sure. Just a little…risque. lol
I have a book club and at our first meeting I had everyone read this. Let’s just say it paved the way for some seriously entertaining conversation. Very eye opening on the customs of the time. But she did butcher the true characters of the real people. But hey, it is fiction. 🙂

1
Brandy

I can’t speak on how butchered it was, but I agree there were some very interesting bits in there

I’ve read a few good ones by Terry Blackstock (or she might spell it Terri, I don’t remember) Karen Kingsbury is also good! Annnd… if you’re up for a cheesy detective series, The Dani Ross Mysteries by Gilbert Morris are fun books. They’re kinda old (like written over 25 years ago) but they’re cheesy and great. I reread a couple of them a few years ago and I was still entertained, even though they were way cheesier than I remembered. ?

One of my favorites is also Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. But I liked her other book Lineage of Grace. It is creating a background story for the women mentioned in the lineage of Jesus. If you can’t separate the fact and fiction, I would not recommend it. But if you can take it as a work of fiction, it is a great book. I liked most of the books by Lynn Austin and most books by Julie Klassen. Both authors write historical Christian Fiction. I also liked the books by Melody Carlson. Hers are more modern fiction.

# 1 suggestion -War Room: Prayer Is a Powerful Weapon Book by Chris Fabry.. “A lot of people want to do great things for God. A lot of people want to change the world. I just shake my head when I hear that. God is the only one who can change the world because He’s the only one who can change hearts and minds.”

I liked the Mark of the Lion series better than Redeeming Love. That’s all I’ve read by her.
