Personally I recommend anything by Ted Dekker, or Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Dekker’s novels are great because if you’re a Christian you’ll understand the underlying symbolism, but if not, you’ll just enjoy the story!
@Luke She was referring to the religion, not the name. That is an Erotica & technically a BDSM novel. She’s looking for Fiction novels related to the Christian faith.
REDEEMING LOVE!!!! It is a romance for sure but has so much else tied into. Value, self worth, parental issues, identity. Oh my gosh it’s so good. I recommend it to everyone. ???
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers! Also anything by Ted Dekker, specially Kiss, Three, Skin, and the Circle Series. Frank Peretti has some really good ones, too, like This Present Darkness and The Prophet. I would recommend The Kensington Chronicles by Lori Wick if you like historical romance.
@Phoebe YES! I LOVE Dekker! I’ve been reading his books for almost a decade now and I can’t get enough! Sadly no. It’s hard finding Dekker books in Puerto Rico. The Christian fiction parts in bookstores are almost non-existent.
@Phoebe I’m getting one this Christmas to help solve that problem. I can relate to that! I first read Dekker when my parents gave me Three as a prize for having all A’s back in 5th grade and I was HOOKED
Madman by Tracey Groot. Brilliant background on the story of how the Gerasene demonic came to be possessed by a legion of demons. It will give you chills and fill you with pity and curiosity.
anything by james L. Rubart, anything by nacy moser (favorite is the time lottery), self published books by Eli Hinze No angels trilogy (amazon). christmas books by Richard Paul Evans I know there is more i liked but i can not think of them off the top of my head.
Did you read Joshua by Joseph Girzone? So good. Also The Oath by Frank Peretti. Cape Light Series by Katherine Spencer & Thomas Kinkade. Cape Refuge series or Emerald Windows by Terri Blackstock
Just a side note for this one, it is not written by a Christian, but by a Jew, and the storyline is not scriptural at all. It is a take on the Bible story, but not Christian fiction. 🙂
It is an interesting read for sure. Just a little…risque. lol I have a book club and at our first meeting I had everyone read this. Let’s just say it paved the way for some seriously entertaining conversation. Very eye opening on the customs of the time. But she did butcher the true characters of the real people. But hey, it is fiction. 🙂
High as the Heavens by Kate Breslin, Where We Belong by Lynn Austin, Hometown Girl by Courtney Walsh, True to You by Becky Wade, The Writing Desk by Rachel Hauck – these are ones I read this year, and I loved them all.
Some of my favorites this year were Hold the Light by April McGowan, True to You by Becky Wade, The Esther Paradigm by Sarah Monzon, Blind Spot by Dani Pettrey (but start with the first in the series: Cold Shot), and The Space Between Words by Michele Phoenix
I’ve read a few good ones by Terry Blackstock (or she might spell it Terri, I don’t remember) Karen Kingsbury is also good! Annnd… if you’re up for a cheesy detective series, The Dani Ross Mysteries by Gilbert Morris are fun books. They’re kinda old (like written over 25 years ago) but they’re cheesy and great. I reread a couple of them a few years ago and I was still entertained, even though they were way cheesier than I remembered. ?
Ronie Kendig (Quiet Professionals & Discarded Heroes series), Lynette Eason, Irene Hannon. All law enforcement or military suspense/romance, but I love them all. Also, Thr3e by Ted Dekker. I worked for Family Christian for 7 years and I read almost everything that came through there lol
One of my favorites is also Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. But I liked her other book Lineage of Grace. It is creating a background story for the women mentioned in the lineage of Jesus. If you can’t separate the fact and fiction, I would not recommend it. But if you can take it as a work of fiction, it is a great book. I liked most of the books by Lynn Austin and most books by Julie Klassen. Both authors write historical Christian Fiction. I also liked the books by Melody Carlson. Hers are more modern fiction.
A Conspiracy of Ravens by Gilbert Morris, The Negotiator by Dee Henderson, Fatal Frost by Nancy Mehl, Traces of Guilt by Dee Henderson, Healer by Linda Windsor
I’m not sure it exists in english and I don’t know if it’s enough fiction for you ’cause I read them when I was about 14 years old… But they’re called Dark city and they’re written by Damaris Kofmehl and Demetri Betts
Anything by Ted Dekker if you want something intense. If you want something lighter Terry Blackstock does good mysteries. And i am currently reading “Echoes of Titanic” and am enjoying it immensely
# 1 suggestion -War Room: Prayer Is a Powerful Weapon Book by Chris Fabry.. “A lot of people want to do great things for God. A lot of people want to change the world. I just shake my head when I hear that. God is the only one who can change the world because He’s the only one who can change hearts and minds.”
Got the whole Zion Covenant series for Christmas. I am really into the first one now. I have never read Mark of the Lion series, or any series she has written, but I love the books by her that I have read.
Alexa has some I’m sure!
Alexa Kay Fetterly
Personally I recommend anything by Ted Dekker, or Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Dekker’s novels are great because if you’re a Christian you’ll understand the underlying symbolism, but if not, you’ll just enjoy the story!
I second this!! Dekker has been my favorite author for like 12 years.
The Arena by Karen Hancock remains one of my favorite books.
Also the Sword of the Lyrics series by Sharon Hinck
Anything by Francine Rivers.
Oh The Oath by Frank Peretti and CS Lewis’ Space trilogy.
When Calls the Heart series.
Love comes softly, series
Fifty Shades Of Grey books
That is not funny, or kind.
Christian Grey?
@Luke She was referring to the religion, not the name. That is an Erotica & technically a BDSM novel. She’s looking for Fiction novels related to the Christian faith.
@Phoebe oh I don’t know what that is.
Well, I’m glad we were able to make the clarification. ?
REDEEMING LOVE!!!! It is a romance for sure but has so much else tied into. Value, self worth, parental issues, identity. Oh my gosh it’s so good. I recommend it to everyone. ???
I LOVEEEEDDDDD THIS BOOK and I HATE romances lol so that says a lot
Same. I can’t stand romance but this was sooooo good. Like I would have to take breaks because it would wreck my heart so much.
@Christina YESSS SAME
Chronicles of narnia!!
Check out Siri Mitchell – she has historical fiction and modern fiction. Some are more faith-based than others but they’re ALL good!!
Boo by Rene Gutteridge
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers!
Also anything by Ted Dekker, specially Kiss, Three, Skin, and the Circle Series. Frank Peretti has some really good ones, too, like This Present Darkness and The Prophet. I would recommend The Kensington Chronicles by Lori Wick if you like historical romance.
A Dekker lover!? Helloooooo! ??
Did you read Immanuel’s Veins?! ❤️??
@Phoebe YES! I LOVE Dekker! I’ve been reading his books for almost a decade now and I can’t get enough!
Sadly no. It’s hard finding Dekker books in Puerto Rico. The Christian fiction parts in bookstores are almost non-existent.
@Linda Do you have an e-reader by chance? Honest to God Dekker was practically my first introduction to real Fiction and Christian Fiction.
@Phoebe I’m getting one this Christmas to help solve that problem.
I can relate to that! I first read Dekker when my parents gave me Three as a prize for having all A’s back in 5th grade and I was HOOKED
@Linda Yes!! Immanuel’s Veins is a MUST (though the first 6 or so chapters are kind of dry.)
Also, Saint, Sinner & Project Showdown. That Trilogy is AMAZING!
Love Dekker! The Circle series!
Dekker is a win for sure.

The mark of the lion series by Francine rivers is my favorite!
Anything by Michelle Griep! Seriously, she’s amazing.
I’ve always wanted to read Holiday in your heart written by Leann Rimes
Prophet by R. J. Larson. It’s not your typical Christian novel, but is still biblical. It is also a series (Books of the Infinite).
The Red tent by Anita Diamant
Just a side note for this one, it is not written by a Christian, but by a Jew, and the storyline is not scriptural at all. It is a take on the Bible story, but not Christian fiction. 🙂
This is true, I just associate it with that time period and with the characters from the bible
It is an interesting read for sure. Just a little…risque. lol
I have a book club and at our first meeting I had everyone read this. Let’s just say it paved the way for some seriously entertaining conversation. Very eye opening on the customs of the time. But she did butcher the true characters of the real people. But hey, it is fiction. 🙂
I can’t speak on how butchered it was, but I agree there were some very interesting bits in there

@Julie!!!! Her series is AMAZING!
Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers and the Zion Covenant series by Brock and Bodie Thoene.
Got the whole Zion Covenant series for Christmas. I am really into the first one now. I have never read Mark of the Lion series, or any series she has written, but I love the books by her that I have read.
Are they as good as the single books? (Sorry, my cat hit enter before I could ask)
I liked the Mark of the Lion series better than Redeeming Love. That’s all I’ve read by her.
