1
Kristin

Really? I loved the books more because I didn’t imagine them being glittery vampires. lol The way I imagined them was so much better. Plus, I feel like Kristen Stewart really ruined it for me.

1
Justine

Not a film but I love the handmaids tale tv series way better than the book

1

@Justine Noooooo……….even though the series is fantastic. This was one televised production that equalled the book though.

@Anna really? Wow x each to their own I guess but I didn’t get any emotion from the film but the book had me crying buckets ?

2
Anna

@Rebecca-Jayn I guess we’re all different! I usually try to read the book before I see the film and I didn’t in this case, which may have made a big difference x

0
Julianne

Oh really? I much preferred the book. I thought the setting and the manner of how she got the messages was better in the book and the parents relationship. If they kept that the same I’d have loved the film xx

1
Claire

@Anna I’m normally like what you did and watch the film first as I find if I read a book first I never enjoy the film. I read the book of this first and cried my eyes out, I didn’t make it past 20 minutes into the film before turning it off and I’ve only ever turned 2 films off in my life haha x

1

I’ve only just read the first one after more than 30 years of watching the film and I was really disappointed. I can see why Walt Disney wanted to adapt the book so much. x

0
Hannah

@Jodie oh really? It’s hard to get the books when the films are made better, it’s normally that films aren’t anywhere near as good as the books. I will read one soon and see what I make of it x

2
Reply
AmandaQuestion author

@Dayna yes it does, however for me the only one I can say I have enjoyed more as a film is lord of the rings, but I think that’s because the books are so not dyslexic friendly.
