You can download the Kindle app and check out all the free books they have. And Bookbub will send you a lost of free or really cheap books of your favorite genre.
Or if your library has the app Overdrive, you can rent books for free through your library.
If you read a free book, please leave a review and a rating on the site you bought it on!
Lots of new authors ‘sell’ their books on Amazon (or wherever else) for free so that when they publish their other books, people who liked their free stuff will buy them.
*Especially* if it’s been edited well and has a professional cover, because that means the author is very passionate about making a living from their writing, and they spent a lot of time and money writing and publishing their book for zero profit, just so that they can build a reputation for themselves.
Editing services that are as low as 0.05¢ per word can cost upwards of $3,000 for a novel of average length. Couple that with professionally made covers (especially those with custom artworks as apposed to free stock photos) which can cost hundreds of dollars, they really are losing a lot of money for the sake of getting their work out there. Not to mention the copious amounts of time plotting, writing, rewriting and self-editing the writer poured into their story.
And even if it hasn’t been professionally edited or has a homemade cover, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re less passionate about becoming an author full-time, they simply might not’ve had the money to make a preemptive investment in their career.
So yeah, please please if you’re taking advantage of free books then take the time to leave an honest rating or review.
I agree with others, check with your local library. With my card, I can read books, listen to music albums, audio books, and movies, all free through Hoopla. We also use Overdrive where I can find other free online books. Both of these websites have phone apps where you can take full advantage of all material on your phone. That is if your library uses either services
It depends on what you want to read. I would use the kindle app which you can get at http://amazon.com/ for reading them. They themselves have thousands of free books. Depending if you already have prime or not there are more. I have a book series called witch central which isn’t on Amazon but the author gives out for free that is extremely good.the author is the one that gave a friend the Google drive page to her to access after I raved to her about the books!
But you can also download a Kindle app (free) and there are lots of books available for free or very low cost on Amazon. Even samples of books you might be interested in …
Overdrive is awesome. You can use it for ebooks and audio books. It’s great for people that like library books at least. I know a couple of people that don’t.

Ive just downloaded the kindle app. How do i search for free books please? 🙂
I cant figure out how to search exclusively dor free books on the all itself. But if you go to Amazon one the website, I think you can
In the search bar at the Amazon site, I type in “free kindle books”; that usually does the trick. Beware: you’ll end up with A LOT of choices.
If you search “Free kindle books” in the Amazon search bar, it gives you a selection. Of you’re looking for a specific genre you might have to dig.
Thanks guys!
Lol Gina. Great minds, eh?

Overdrive in accordance with your local library. Mine uses the Libby app, but I hate it. Overdrive is much better.
