Hey, Kiddo by Jarrett J. Krosoczka
It is a memoir on how he lost his mother, found his father, and dealt with family addiction. It is about 300 pages.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson! A fantasy story about a villain and his spunky shape-shifting sidekick. It’s hilarious and devastating and I can’t recommend it enough

Locke and Key by Joe Hill. I’ve only read the first so far (Welcome to Lovecraft) but the story and the artwork were great. (My first try at Graphic novels- I’ll read more!)
