I am currently reading Karin Slaughter’s Grant County series (I am on the third book). They are quite brutal, and I would give major TWs for sexual assault/abuse/suicide scenes, but among the best ones I have read (and I don’t typically go for series books)
@Amber I really enjoyed the secretary. I didn’t expect mostly anything that happened in the second half of the book! I didn’t read the anonymous girl yet, but it’s on hold for me
@Mercedes, we had a live chat with Sarah Pinborough in Chapter Chatter Pub, if you are interested in watching. She’s amazing! I have an autographed copy of Behind Her Eyes and Cross Her Heart.
Carol Clark sara pinborough, shari lapena and lisa jewel and ruth ware have some good book, especially behind her eyes ( shari lapena) then she was gone (lisa jewell) women in cabin 10 (ruth ware) .
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel. I just finished it last night and it was a magnificent read, though it was too disturbing and quite honestly, disgusting. It’s such a great read, but I won’t finding myself reading it again.
So, unpopular opinion, but I didn’t love the Silent Patient. Anyone else? I just didn’t like the choppy writing style. Not bashing it, just not the best I’ve read. I gave it 3 stars I think.
@Krissi also found it a 3 star read. I knew what was happening from before halfway through. You’re right the writing was choppy. Imo it was a good story poorly executed
@Krissi I thought I was the only one! The writing made it very hard for me to get into. But I have to say I was thrown off by the twist. Didn’t see it coming.
I haven’t read many, but I enjoyed ‘The Silent Patient’.

You’re right the writing was choppy.
Imo it was a good story poorly executed
@Victoria that’s how I felt as well. I didn’t feel it was horrible, but not fantastic, either.
@Krissi I thought I was the only one! The writing made it very hard for me to get into. But I have to say I was thrown off by the twist. Didn’t see it coming.
