I am currently reading Karin Slaughter’s Grant County series (I am on the third book). They are quite brutal, and I would give major TWs for sexual assault/abuse/suicide scenes, but among the best ones I have read (and I don’t typically go for series books)

So, unpopular opinion, but I didn’t love the Silent Patient. Anyone else? I just didn’t like the choppy writing style. Not bashing it, just not the best I’ve read. I gave it 3 stars I think.

1
Reply
Victoria

@Krissi also found it a 3 star read. I knew what was happening from before halfway through.
You’re right the writing was choppy.
Imo it was a good story poorly executed

1
Krissi

@Victoria that’s how I felt as well. I didn’t feel it was horrible, but not fantastic, either.

1
Emily

@Krissi I thought I was the only one! The writing made it very hard for me to get into. But I have to say I was thrown off by the twist. Didn’t see it coming.
