I’d go Deon Meyer if you enjoy crime.

Margie Orford all her books. They are excellent.
I read a slew of dime store romance novels from the 1950’s. Sorry, I can’t remember any of the authors. ?
Diana Polisensky has written Whitewashed Jacarandas, which I really enjoyed. A young Jewish doctor, married to a gentile, confronts dread disease, Victorian work practices, race prejudice and municipal complacency in an African Colony after WWII. http://www.oncecalledhome.com/whitewashed-jacarandas/
