Nice I’m reading northern lights for the first time but I’ve read a chunk of her stuff she’s my favorite

I’ve read some of her books but she doesn’t capture my interest like she does when she writes the “In Death” series as J D Robb. Those books I devour, but her Nora Roberts books I kind of struggle to finish. Weird but that’s how it is with me.

I really enjoy her J. D Robb series too ?

2
Trish

I’m just the opposite. I tried to read her JD Robb books but couldn’t get into them.

I’m the same! My mother loves her books, and I’ve tried but they just dont do it for me. I’m trying to get her to read a Nora Roberts books for years!

Annette

LOL. Danielle Steele could be considered “old school”. I was reading her when I was about your age. With all the new genres out there now, you young people can’t relate to her and other older authors style and subject matter. At my age now, I am reading a lot of genres I would have never considered when I was younger. Times and interest change over the years.

My grandma loves Danielle Steele.

I read alot of older stuff I just didn’t like her writing

0
Annette

@Mikayla very understandable. I’m the same way about a lot of authors. I am reading an author right now that others rave about but I do not like her writing, i’ll finish the book but it will be a long time before I read anything else by them.

Oh you lucky thing! My friend and I are always saying if we ever get a nice sum of money together,we’re going to stay in her inn,and shop in her bookstore lol

1
Jennifer

Yep, I spend way too much money in her store. I do want to stay at the Inn one day. It’s my goal for my 20th anniversary (which is 2020.)

1
Suzanne

I hope you reach that goal ? Who knows if I’ll ever get there,I live in Ireland so,I will have a bit further to travel ?

1
Jennifer

I love Ireland! My hubby and I went there in 2010. Gorgeous, gorgeous country. Next time I want to go to Ardmore so I can see where the Irish Trilogy was based. We went to West Ireland more than southeast.

I have read some of her books. I’m more into murder mysteries like Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Dorothy Sayers rather than romantic suspense. An older generation is Mary Roberts Rinehart.
