I didn’t think it was very well written though the story itself was interesting. I kept wanting to like it more but overall I was disappointed with the writing.

I would probably try reading it (haven’t yet) but I could not get through the movie at all. I was done within the first 30 minutes. Too much blood and guts with all of the bombing. I usually eat up that time period and WW II books and movies.

I actually purchased it thinking it was fiction, I tend to just pick up anything that is set in Poland, only to start reading and realized it’s non-fiction. I found it to be amazing, a storyline that I knew nothing about but realize now the story needed to be told. Made me cry at times. Don’t judge the book based on the movie. The movie is good but the book tells so much more of the heart wrenching story.
