Tamora Pierce is one of our favorite authors. She writes strong women & girls without making men/boys be stupid. Most of them come in sets of 3 or 4.

A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas

The Old Kingdom series by Garth Nix (especially the original trilogy of Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen)

His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman

Fangirl and Carry On by Rainbow Rowell- although I love all her books.

The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff- amazing (don’t get on kindle, the comparability is shocking)

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda / The Upside of the Unrequited / Leah on the Offbeat all by Becky Albertali

Have you read the Outlander? Or any of Sarah Maas books. I also Juliet Marillier’s books and Jennifer Fallon. Robin Hobb is good too. Those are all fantasy.

Also if you like good fiction read James Clavel and Leon Uris. They made movies of lots of their books. They are older books but good.
