Jane Austen is really a really great jumping off point. I love the Brontë sisters, and if you liked Dracula you may like The Picture of Dorian Gray, it’s pretty damn good. If you like fantasy, you can’t go wrong with Tolkien, and Beowulf is fantastic.

“Candide” is about the only ancient book that reads to me like a modern comedy. “Crime and Punishment” engaged me so much I read it after using the Cliff Notes to bluff my way through class, “Great Expectations” is also still readable.

Hi! I’m not into classics, really, only a few that I’ve clicked with, but if you’re interested in recommendations from people who love classics, I could recommend some booktube videos from some people I love to watch reviews from:

I hope this helps a bit 🙂 My personal favorites are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
