I am reading My Little Life at the moment, it is a huge book about a group of friends, one in particular Jude who had an abusive childhood and their are parts of that book that have caused me to really cry! It is so well written but it may not be for you….

You should read ‘When Bad Things Happen in Good Bikinis’ by Helen Bailey. It will make you both laugh and cry.
If you love romance novels, I highly suggest A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner. That novel will rip your heart to bits and pieces but it’s such a great angsty read.

The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis– one of the most depressing books I have ever read
What’s it about
a girl named Anna falls for a drug dealer named Abel as she listens to him tell his young sister a pretty dark fairy tale that is rooted in reality
there are also several murders, the ending is what really got me though
I’m going to check that out
it’s a really compelling read. disturbing at times, but worth it
I’m trying to finish a book I’m writing and trying to get perspectives on captivity and why a person can’t leave
Maybe it’ll give a perspective
I think that could apply to the girl– as unhealthy as her relationship is, she can’t give him up and as a reader in an odd way you wanted them to end up together. The guy, on the other hand, I think would be an example of someone going to desperate measures to escape his version of captivity

Read TFIOS and cried. Never finished The Kite Runner for some reason. I’ve seen The Boy In The Striped Pajamas and cried, but never read it, and I read The Casual Vacancy but never cried.
I cried on the last page! Like the last paragraph.
@Brandy I don’t know why it didn’t make me cry. Maybe I need to read it again.
I just really fell in love with that character.
@Brandy I was able to find it for a cheap price and bought it so hopefully this year I’ll re-read it.
