I finished the book last night and then watched the movie. My husband isn’t one to read and so the whole time I was getting pissed because the movie was so different from the book. He was like well what happened in the book? ?

I DNF’d at 72 pages and returned it to the library. It was difficult to make it that far.

Was it bad? In what way. Poor writing? Aggravating story or characters?

@Carrie I pushed through it but didn’t like it. I kept thinking we were going to find our what was ot there. I would say aggravating story. Unrealistic. I will wait for video to come out.

@Dianna I found the writing juvenile and the storyline boring. If I was remotely interested in what happened next, I would have continued. It felt like a YA book to me. (I read a lot of juvenile fiction—middle grade.)

@Karen I haven’t watched the movie. I’m sure it would be more interesting than the book. You can create suspense in the movie where there wasn’t any in the book. I knew nothing about the book and heard everyone talking about it and saw the blindfold memes. This isn’t my typical genre, and I was hoping for something to keep me guessing. Overall, I was disappointed.

The movie was good to me so I thought the books are always better, but we’ll see, maybe this is one of those times where that’s not the case.

I watched the movie then read the book. Gotta say I’m glad I didn’t pay more than 99p for the book or watch the movie at the cinema! I think if had been at the cinema originally i would have left and asked for a refund ? Both were awful. I hoped the book would be better. But such poor writing style. Was almost a dnf for me

***spoilers***
Quite a bit. She raised those kids for four-ish years on her own for one.

I’d tell you more but you should read it lol

The reviews on this thread don’t sound too promising ?

A lot of people I seen made it out to be the best thing ever. I didnt think it was “amazing” but I did like it. I liked the movie too. I did watch the movie first so I couldn’t judge it too harshly if I had read the book first.

I thought the book was better. I could totally see Sandra Bullock as a bad ass in the book. I did like the story of her and Tom in the show though.

The end made me cry! ?
