I finished the book last night and then watched the movie. My husband isn’t one to read and so the whole time I was getting pissed because the movie was so different from the book. He was like well what happened in the book? ?
@Carrie I pushed through it but didn’t like it. I kept thinking we were going to find our what was ot there. I would say aggravating story. Unrealistic. I will wait for video to come out.
@Dianna I found the writing juvenile and the storyline boring. If I was remotely interested in what happened next, I would have continued. It felt like a YA book to me. (I read a lot of juvenile fiction—middle grade.)
@Karen I haven’t watched the movie. I’m sure it would be more interesting than the book. You can create suspense in the movie where there wasn’t any in the book. I knew nothing about the book and heard everyone talking about it and saw the blindfold memes. This isn’t my typical genre, and I was hoping for something to keep me guessing. Overall, I was disappointed.
I watched the movie then read the book. Gotta say I’m glad I didn’t pay more than 99p for the book or watch the movie at the cinema! I think if had been at the cinema originally i would have left and asked for a refund ? Both were awful. I hoped the book would be better. But such poor writing style. Was almost a dnf for me
A lot of people I seen made it out to be the best thing ever. I didnt think it was “amazing” but I did like it. I liked the movie too. I did watch the movie first so I couldn’t judge it too harshly if I had read the book first.
I thought the book was better. I could totally see Sandra Bullock as a bad ass in the book. I did like the story of her and Tom in the show though.
I watched “The quiet place” last night because someone recommeded it to me after I mentioned Bird Box.. The movie was so good..I cried a lot lol I’m still undecided if I wanna read Bird box or not..but mainly because the book is so short but still costs 10€…. :/ thats a lot for me…
I just finished it. I loved it. X
I loved the book! The movie ??
Omg same!! I Started it last night. Im on page 120 and Im having the same reaction as you while reading
Sorry. I have no idea how that got there! Have a good snowy day.

I DNF’d at 72 pages and returned it to the library. It was difficult to make it that far.
Was it bad? In what way. Poor writing? Aggravating story or characters?

The movie was good to me so I thought the books are always better, but we’ll see, maybe this is one of those times where that’s not the case.
I want the book. It’s high up my tbr list.
I love that book! Sooooooooo much better than the movie!
Good book!
Great book

Quite a bit. She raised those kids for four-ish years on her own for one.
