I enjoyed it and felt the author really cared about animals.

I really enjoyed it. I read it as a child and as an adult and liked it both times.

I loved it. As a child I read every book I could find with horses in them.

I just watched the 1994 film from the book. Fantastic cinematography, but VERY depressing for long periods of the run-time. Have never read the book–is it that grueling, or a little lighter in mood?

I read it and honestly only remember a couple scenes that may or may not have actually occurred. Horses don’t seem to draw me in very well.

Love it. Really well written and it massively helped horses be treated better when it first came out. Plus the story of the author and how she came about writing the book is really inspiring. Ive yet to find a movie or show that matches the book, every movie ive seen has been terrible. I grew up on a farm and always had horses so this was my favourite book. I have a copy now and always will. I even did a project in high school about the book and author and got an A..

I have a true antique copy from 1940 that was in my grandmother’s house. It’s so brittle that I keep it wrapped in paper towels, layered over with tin foil & in a Ziploc Baggie in my closet to at least keep it from being completely destroyed, but I read it NUMEROUS times as a child. The original was SO well written, & tear jerking at the same time. I also have the Breyer Black Beauty model horse set 🙂

I remember walking out to my horses and crying like a baby into their manes after reading it. ?

20 minutes with em is better than 20 years of therapy ain’t it… My “shrink” is close to 30 years old and I have NO idea what I’m gonna do when he’s gone 🙁

I’m moving away from mine in a couple of weeks… ?

30 years is impressive! He must have had a great life to get to that age.

I loved it. I am an animal lover myself.
I read the book when I was ten or so, and I remember crying sooo much! I read it last year (8 years later) and I ended up crying once again?
