It’s a picture book, but I have an extreme fondness for The Story of Holly and Ivy. For novels, I like Shepherds Abiding, from the Mitford series by Jan Karon

One I was able to find this year and have only heard parts of on NPR. Jacob T. Marley by R. William Bennett. Jacob Marley’s side of A Christmas Carol.

That’s when I start too! I have a pile of favorites and at least one new one that I read every Christmas.
Whew! I am not usually a Christmas person, but this year I found this book and I have A Christmas Carol read by Tim Curry and suddenly I want to listen to both.
I love Christmas. I love the hope and the effort to be better, do better that abounds in Christmas stories.
